GREEK ARMBANDS
Greek_wristbands.jpg
These are serpentine armbands made of gold. On them are 2 tritons (sons of Poseidon), one male and one female. They are each holding an Eros (a winged god). There are hoops behind each head that attach the armbands to the person's sleeves of their clothing. The armbands are very heavy and weigh 6 1/2 ounces each.

SOCIETYThe society in Ancient Greece in some places was similar to other Ancient civilizations. in other places the civilization was completely different. In places like Athens, the women hardly ever left their homes. In Sparta, the women had many privileges. Also, there were many agoras where the people talked and traded goods. They had many philosophers. They also traded with many people because they had good sea routes. CURRENT EVENTSGreece is in a large financial crisis. They were saved from bankruptcy last May. This is a problem not only for Greece but for other countries including the US that trade with Greece.
